Provenance

• 1857-1960, This fountain, as well as another one, was placed on the Allées de Tourny in Bordeaux, France
• 1960, Both fountains are dismantled because of the high cost of their maintenance. One of them is reinstalled in Soulac-sur-Mer, Gironde, France.
• 2003, The other fountain is bought by Maison Simons (a company from Quebec selling clothes and house decoration items), which has it restored and gives it to the City of Quebec for its 400th anniversary
• 2007, July 3, Inauguration of the fountain for future celebrations of Quebec City's 400th anniversary in 2008
