Comment
- 1996 Luciano, p. 18:
In this touching work Barye stresses the defenseless fragility of young animals in the wild which are often the victims if larger predators. This work displays a sensitive and intimate feeling which shows the range of Barye's expressibe abilities. This rare model exists in only one size. The beautiful green patina is typical of the best Barye casts and was the type of patination preferred by the artist.
