BOIZOT, Louis-Simon

Paris 1743 - Paris 1809

From John Whitehead: This is a model by Boizot which reinterprets a 1769 sculpture perhaps after Bachelier. It was first used for the surtout de table for the wedding of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette. This one is a larger, later hard-paste example of 1780-1790. According to him, the letters "LR" are for Le Riche.
